Di Potassium Phosphate

Di Potassium Phosphate (DPP) is colorless or white granular powder, crystals or masses; deliquescent substance, which is extremely soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol. Di Potassium Phosphate is widely used in non-dairy creamers to prevent coagulation. Stating its medicinal importance, Di Potassium Phosphate is used to treat mild headaches.

Uses:

• Dipotassium phosphate is used as a buffering agent, sequestrant, and emulsifier in dairy products.
• It is used in coffee creamer, cheeses, evaporated milk, and meat processing.
• It is used in non-dairy creamers to prevent coagulation.
• It is sometimes sold as a food additive to help with headaches.
• It is also used as a dispersion medium in liquid detergents.

Handling and Storage:

• DPP is highly hygroscopic and hence should be contained in original packing or an air tight container.
• It should be stored in a clean, cool and dry place.
• Store one pallet high to avoid compaction.
